It is speaking words you do not recognize. The way it moves is strange to you– an erratic flicker. There is no indication as to its intent. You take a step back. You would look away but you don’t know how it would interpret that. You will not turn your back to it. Instead you close your eyes. Cross your arms. It is for this reason we invented laws and customs and common tongues. So we might have some way to trust the stranger. You cannot help but believe there is a reason for its being there. Curiosity tugs against caution.
