At the bottom of the tower they find what cannot be taken away from them in the ruins. Each of the survivors finds something different. A man with tattered robes and a gash across his forehead finds faith. A woman who has lost her children finds her love intact. The one with broken legs finds the earth, ever present. There amidst the ruins, where they expected to find nothing, they learn how much of their lives they have toiled for things that are so easily lost. There in the ruins they resolve, before the next tower falls, to toil for what cannot be shaken or burned or buried.
